Travel Vaccinations

If you are planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. It is advised that you should have the required vaccines six weeks before travel.

We ask that you attend a travel clinic as the surgery does not offer this service anymore. By attending the travel clinic, you will be made aware of what vaccinations you will need before travelling outside the UK.

  • Boots Travel Clinic (Enquire at Boots in Poole Dolphin Centre)
  • Boots Travel Clinic (Castlepoint, Bournemouth)
  • Wimborne Travel Clinic at Quarter Jack Surgery - 01202 881693
  • Southampton Travel Clinic - 02380 631922

After attending the travel clinic you will be informed what vaccines are required. Then you can call the surgery to arrange a appointment with the practice nurse to administer these vaccines.

The following travel vaccines are available free on the NHS

  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Polio (given as combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
  • Cholera
